BIO’s first tenant “Siemens” officially opened.

Manama, Bahrain: German engineering giant Siemens has officially opened Siemens' Middle East Service Centre for Metallurgical Services within Baytik Industrial Oasis (BIO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) leasing a total area of 25,000 square feet.

Commenting on the side-lines of the landmark opening ceremony, Mr. Osama AlKhaja, Chairman of Baytik Industrial Oasis congratulated Siemens for the official opening. “I congratulate Siemens and wish them great success at BIO,” said Mr. AlKhaja.

He also highlighted the role BIO plays in driving the Kingdom’s economy. “Bahrain needs to establish itself as a manufacturing base and move away from a petro-based GDP in order diversify the economy. By offering prime industrial real estate to companies like Siemens, BIO is taking concrete steps in helping the country move forward with the EDB’s Vision 2030 plans,” said Mr. AlKhaja.

“Having invested substantial capital in a world class infrastructure for the project, BIO is attracting enquiries from many global companies. The island’s central location within the GCC region makes BIO a highly cost-effective regional headquarters for many industrial companies,” added Mr. AlKhaja.

“The first project of its kind in the Kingdom, BIO is located within the BIIP, a newly established area in Salman Industrial City. Focused on technology, manufacturing, light industry service and knowledge based sectors, BIO has been designed to attract occupiers with value added activities,” said Mr. AlKhaja.

“Our 162,000 square meters park helps companies save on relocation and start-up costs. With minimal investment in necessary equipment, a company can setup operations within one month,” said Mr. Nader AlMoayyed, CEO of Baytik Industrial Investments.

“We have taken considerable care to ensure that all materials used and each facility is built to the highest international standards pre-empting the needs of global occupiers such as Siemens. I welcome them into our BIO fold and wish them the great success in the years to come,” added Mr. AlMoayyed.

“BIO’s Phase 1 comprises of six pre-built advanced manufacturing units for lease, each consisting of four modules of equal sizes, BIO-based companies benefit from: pre-built advanced manufacturing units built to a world-class standard; zero % corporate tax; 100% foreign ownership; superior infrastructure; duty free access to all GCC markets; excellent connectivity through road, air and sea; an FTA with the US; and access to a talented and well trained workforce pool.” said Mr. AlMoayyed.
